Taylor Sheridan doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to “Lioness.”

Sheridan’s epic CIA/military drama is currently airing season 3 on Paramount+, and there are just two episodes remaining in the current season.

It’s been an absolutely outstanding run. That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. The action scenes and complex storylines are among Sheridan’s best work.

It’s also clear that an absurd amount of training and preparation go into making sure it feels as realistic as possible.

“Lioness” star Jill Wagner spoke with “People” about the finer points of the technical aspects, and revealed Sheridan had her make a fairly significant change for an action scene moments before the cameras started recording.

“I wont say that anything was so physically draining for me this season because I do think this season is a bit more cerebral. But I will say there was one day that Laysla [De Oliveira] and I were trying to get this entrance into the house. Cruz and Bobby have to come in and clear the room, and we were having difficulties with some of the angles. Ten minutes before we roll, he comes in and says, No, I think you should switch arms. Transition your weapon to your left arm.'”

She continued, “And I was just like, Hmm … okay. Help me….Ultimately, we worked it out, and its probably going to be one of my favorite moments.”

The revelation from Wagner that Sheridan is so specific about things such as weapons, angles and tactics is very on-brand.

Episode six of season 3 featured a scene with Delta Force operators melting some Iranian bad guys, and the weapons handling and speed was incredible. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Whoever is advising Sheridan is doing an excellent job.

The “Yellowstone” creator gets things correct that most productions don’t even take time to consider when it comes to action scenes.

Now, “Lioness” fans wait to see what comes in the final two episodes. Have a fun theory on what will happen? Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
