MLB stadium looks virtually empty as fans send clear message about the team: 'Embarrassing'

It appears Los Angeles Angels fans have officially run out of patience. And, apparently, motivation.

The Angels, suffering through another miserable season, hosted the Cleveland Guardians in a matinée game Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday day games aren’t unusual in Major League Baseball, given the fact that at least one of the teams playing will have to be on an airplane soon after the final pitch to get to their next location.

So, unusual? No.

Inconvenient for the fans? You bet.

How many fans are off at 1 p.m. on a Wednesday? Not a ton. Same with kids and school. That being said, the crowd for yesterday’s series finale in Anaheim was stunning, even for a bad team’s standards.

The Angels officially claim that 25,161 fans clocked in for Wednesday’s game.

I don’t know …

You tell me:

Goodness gracious. Just a brutal look here for the Angels, and their fans. More so the Angels, though, given the franchise has been mostly awful for the better part of a decade now.

Do you know the last time the Angels made the playoffs? 2014.

2014!

That was 12 years ago! And remember, this is a team that had both Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani in the lineup for years.

LOS ANGELES ANGELS FIRED ADVANCE SCOUT NICKNAMED ‘BASEBALL SPY’ AFTER HE WAS CAUGHT FILMING ROCKIES

Would you show up to a 1 p.m. game on a Wednesday to watch the Los Angeles Angels, who are currently 52-82 and sit 16 games back the American League wild card? Doubtful.

“Ball game. And the Angels should be frightened by the attendance today. Embarrassing,” one fan said.

“This is legit a covid crowd wtf,” added another.

The crowd was so bad, I had to go back and watch some highlights of the game to make sure it wasn’t fake. I had to start my day watching Guardians-Angels highlights.

Did anyone have it worse this morning? I don’t think so.

PS: A lot of Angels fans are also saying it was too hot for a baseball game, and that’s why the place was empty. Come on.

It was 92 degrees.

Let’s not be silly.
